rAWF and Dev‑Afrique to Support Federal Government’s Conservation and Policy Reform

The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and Dev‑Afrique Development Advisors have formed a strategic partnership aimed at aiding the Federal Government and other African governments in bolstering conservation initiatives, enhancing environmental governance, and driving policy reforms that foster sustainable development.

The partnership seeks to assist governments and regional bodies in incorporating natural capital into national planning and decision processes, while improving the mechanisms that oversee biodiversity, land use, and ecosystem resources.

Chief Executive Officer of AWF, Kaddu Sebunya, emphasized that Africa’s natural resources are essential to the continent’s long‑term economic growth and resilience.

“Across Africa, there is growing recognition that our natural capital is not only an environmental asset but a foundation for economic growth, resilience, and prosperity,” Sebunya said.

He added that realizing the full potential of these resources demands robust institutions, high‑quality data, sound planning, and partnerships that can convert policy ambitions into concrete results.

Founder and Managing Principal of Dev‑Afrique Development Advisors, Ridwan M. Sorunke, described the partnership as evidence of the organisations’ shared dedication to providing African‑led solutions to governance and environmental challenges.
