Prince Buchi Shares Mixed Reactions to His Role as Monica

Actor Prince Buchi, who portrayed Bobo, the younger brother of Monica in the popular film Monica produced by Uche Montana, said he has received a range of reactions and labels tied to the character.

In an interview with Potpourri, he explained, “Yes, there were reactions where people associated me directly with the character, which is something that happens often in storytelling. I received different kinds of comments and labels based on the role, which I take as a sign that the character resonated with the audience. At the same time, I understand that as actors, our responsibility is to tell stories as truthfully as possible. I take feedback in good faith, while staying grounded in the understanding that there is a clear difference between myself and the characters I portray in movies.”

When asked how he prepared for the role, he said, “My preparation involved breaking down the script, connecting each scene emotionally, and ensuring that every reaction felt honest. On set, I focused on staying present in each moment so the emotions came naturally rather than being forced. For me, it was about truthfully representing the character, not just performing him.”
