President Federation Cup: Nasarawa Amazons, FC Robo Queens, and Two Other Teams Vie for Final Spots

FC Robo Queens will face Heartland Queens of Owerri in the first semi‑final of this year’s President Federation Cup women’s competition at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Wednesday.

Heartland Queens enter the match with confidence after eliminating Dragon Fury Ladies, Ahudiyannem Queens and Ibom Angels to reach the last‑four stage.

Lagos‑based Robo Queens have beaten Rangers Women of Enugu, Remo Stars Ladies and Rivers Angels. The defeat of Rivers Angels by the Queens was widely seen as an upset, and many followers are already predicting the Lagos side will reach the grand finale scheduled for Saturday, 11 July in Asaba.

In the second semi‑final, Sunshine Queens from Akure will play the highly‑rated Nasarawa Amazons from Lafia at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, with a 4 pm kick‑off.

The Lafia girls have been a mainstay at the top level of Nigerian football for many years, consistently performing well and staying among the front‑runners.

To reach this stage, they swept past Osklean FC in the Round of 32, then survived penalty shootouts against FC Naija Ratels of Abuja and high‑flying Edo Queens in subsequent rounds to reach the last four.

Sunshine Queens, on their part, comfortably defeated Solo Wonders in the Round of 32, then dismissed Plateau United Queens in the Round of 16 and shocked Confluence Queens of Lokoja with a lone goal in the quarter‑finals.
