The Bauchi State Police Command has rescued two kidnapped victims and arrested four suspects in an abduction that took place in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
According to the command, a 40‑year‑old woman and her 25‑year‑old son were taken by gunmen who stormed their home in Kwarin Gadali Hamlet, Pali District, Alkaleri LGA, early on the morning of June 2, 2026.
Spokesperson SP Nafiu Habib announced the incident in a statement on Friday, noting that the police were alerted at about 11:46 am the same day.
He said officers from the Pali Outstation arrived promptly and launched an intelligence‑led operation to locate the kidnappers and secure the victims’ release.
Habib reported that a joint team of police, soldiers and local security personnel, acting on credible intelligence, arrested three suspects—Mainasara Alhaji Umaru, 23; Buba Alhaji Umaru, 20; and Muhammadu Usman, 19—at Kuka Village in Duguri District, Alkaleri LGA.
Further investigation led to the arrest of a fourth suspect, Ahmadu Umaru of Dalgade, after one of the earlier suspects allegedly confessed to knowing the kidnapping and the victims’ location.
The police spokesman said the victims were rescued unharmed at about 7:45 pm on June 3, 2026, following sustained intelligence‑driven operations.
“The victims have since been taken to the General Hospital, Alkaleri, for medical examination and attention,” the statement read.
Habib added that all suspects are now in police custody and that the case has been transferred to the Anti‑Kidnapping Unit for further investigation.
He noted that efforts are continuing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang and recover weapons reportedly used during the operation.
