Police arrest two suspected armed robbers in Delta, recover pump action gun, cartridges, others 

Police officers from the Department of Operations (DOPS) Buffalo Team, stationed at the Second Niger Bridge in Delta State, arrested two men suspected of armed robbery during a stop‑and‑search operation. The suspects were found to be in possession of a pump‑action rifle, a live cartridge, two daggers, and other incriminating items.

The individuals, Ugo Chukwu Kendirim, 25, and Odo Jude, 27, were taken into custody on 27 May 2026, according to the Daily Post.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Friday.

The Police Image Maker noted, “The Delta State Police Command has recorded another operational success with the arrest of two suspected armed robbers and the recovery of a pump‑action gun, a live cartridge, and other incriminating exhibits.”

SP Edafe detailed the operation: “On 27 May 2026, DOPS Buffalo Team officers, while conducting a targeted stop‑and‑search at the Second Niger Bridge, intercepted an unregistered blue Hijet Cargo minibus traveling from Anambra State into Delta State.”

He added, “During the operation, the occupants of the vehicle tried to deter the officers from searching and threatened to record the officers if the search proceeded. The operatives remained professional and carried out a thorough search, which uncovered one pump‑action gun loaded with one live cartridge and two daggers.”

“The suspects, identified as Ugo Chukwu Kendirim, 25, and Odo Jude, 27, were immediately arrested and taken into custody,” SP Edafe said. “Preliminary investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the possession of the recovered exhibits and to identify any possible links to criminal activities.”
