The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that they are aware of the individuals behind the court order that deregistered the ADC and other political parties.
Abdullahi made the remarks on Monday during an interview on “Politics Today,” a program on Channels Television.
He was responding to the court order that directed the deregistration of the ADC, the Accord Party, and other parties from participating in the 2027 general elections.
“We know the person behind the Federal High Court judgment that deregistered the ADC. The person or the individual who is championing this works in the office of the Chief of Staff to the President,” Abdullahi said.
“He’s a former House of Representatives member from the South‑East. His name is there. They are not hiding.”
“Secondly, the Attorney‑General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, who was the second defendant in the case a few days ago, suddenly emerged as a plaintiff. What an absurdity! In a case that you are a defendant, then suddenly you woke up and became a plaintiff?” he added.
“Then the question that we ask him is, what is the injury that these individuals who call themselves former legislative forum will suffer if ADC and these other parties contest the election in 2027? Of course, maybe the breakfast they are enjoying will come to an end,” he said.
