Oyo Government Demolishes Building Used as Kidnappers’ Hideout in Adelabu Family Abduction Case

IBADAN — The Oyo State Government demolished a three‑bedroom bungalow in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road axis of Ibadan as part of an ongoing kidnapping investigation.

The demolition was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with assistance from Nigeria Police Force operatives.

State authorities said the property had been identified during investigations into the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John‑Paul and her 12‑year‑old twin sons, Peter and Paul.

The victims were reportedly taken from Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan on June 3, 2026.

The government stated that the action is part of its broader effort to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.

It added that the demolition demonstrates its commitment to combating insecurity and disrupting criminal operations.

The state government also reiterated its resolve to ensure that individuals found culpable of criminal activities, as well as properties used in the commission of crimes where permitted by law, are dealt with through the appropriate legal processes.
