Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde approved a 16‑hour curfew in ten local government areas on Tuesday night.
A memo from the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, states that the curfew will begin today, Wednesday.
The curfew will run from 4 pm to 8 am and, for the first 48 hours, will apply to local government areas adjacent to the Old Oyo National Park.
The affected local government areas are –
Oriire (Headquarters: Ikoyi-Ile)
Orelope (Headquarters: Igboho)
Irepo (Headquarters: Kisi)
