The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized the “orchestrated” pattern of resignations by some party members, saying it shows a lack of political tact and diplomacy and undermines the party’s image of stability.

“Those who devised the resignation style used by APC members in the past would now see that the predictable approach has become unpopular and irritating to discerning members of the public who have been following the political developments in the state,” the APC said.

In a statement released yesterday in Osogbo by Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the Osun State APC director of Media and Information, the party said: “Are the political actors involved in the repeated, inglorious, and obviously tiresome daily incidents of resignation from our party not familiar with the saying that a foolish fairy princess appears more than once?”

“It is time for those engaged in the unusual and boring defection game to return to the drawing board for a new style of effecting their nefarious political activities, as the current methods have proven obsolete, tiresome, and dull,” the statement added.

“It is amusing that those who cannot even manage their households are among those rolling out resignation letters, which investigations have shown to be on a cash-and-carry basis for as little as N5 million per head,” the APC noted.

“We commend the astute and loyal members and supporters of our party, for God has answered their collective supplications that anyone who would be a clog to the electoral victory of our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, in the forthcoming election on August 15 2026, should be unmasked and spiritually driven out of the party,” the statement continued.

“Although there is a constitutional shield of Freedom of Association for individuals, moral consideration over such developments takes precedence over the expectations of the people in our climate, which has expressly become a barometer to measure the credibility of the affected actors in the near future,” the APC added.

It also said: “Our continuous collective prayer is for God to continue to expose the other hidden dissidents in our party whose clandestine political activities may be antithetical to the imminent electoral victory of AMBO, our governorship candidate, in the forthcoming election.”
