The Accord Party has condemned a second assault on Imole House, the site of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign office and the party’s state secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State.

The attack occurred on Sunday night in the state capital, marking the second incident against Imole House within two weeks.

Assailants, allegedly backed by opposition politicians, fired sporadically at the building, shattering windows and damaging offices, including the Accord State Chairman’s office of Victor Akande.

A message scrawled on the building’s wall read, “Say No to automatic ticket,” appearing to serve as a warning.

Earlier, the same thugs had destroyed Accord and Imole Campaign Council billboards, vandalised public property, and killed the son of the party’s woman leader in Irewole Local Government Area, in a series of violent acts.

A statement signed by Maxwell Mgbuden, National Chairman of Accord, said security agencies had been notified of the plots, which the party alleges were orchestrated by desperate politicians using thugs to create chaos and destabilise the state ahead of the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election.

“The party is shocked that the attacks happened under their watch,” the statement read.

Accord called on the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to act immediately, arrest and prosecute the armed assailants and their sponsors.

“The police should also provide adequate security at Imole House and strategic locations in the state to prevent a recurrence of these dastardly acts,” the statement added.

“Politics is a contest of ideas, not violence. Accord condemns garrison politics in all its forms. It is unfortunate that the All Progressives Congress, which the people of Osun State rejected in the previous polls and will still reject on August 15, would mobilise thugs to attack the campaign office of an incumbent governor seeking re‑election with impunity. It is outrageous, despicable and unacceptable,” the statement continued.

“Let it be clear that the people of Osun State have chosen to be in one accord to build a better, greater and prosperous state, and will not bow to intimidation, harassment, violence and terrorism from anti‑democratic and reactionary forces in the state.”

Accord added that Governor Adeleke has performed well and deserves a second term, noting that Osun people are ready to vote for continuity.
