Osas Ighodaro lands lead role in new Bollywood series

Osas Ighodaro, a Nigerian‑American actress and television host, has been cast in the lead role of the forthcoming Nolly‑Bollywood micro‑drama series Imported Bahu.

Executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja announced the project on Monday, pairing Ighodaro with Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall in a narrative that explores love, family secrets, and cross‑cultural romance.

Through an Instagram post, Ahuja introduced Imported Bahu as the first vertical micro‑drama series produced by her company, Forever 7 Entertainment.

“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu — Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro‑drama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”

She also confirmed that Ighodaro and Duggall will lead the series, which is set to premiere on July 2 2026 exclusively on LebaraPlay, Africa’s first telecom‑owned micro‑drama platform.

Ahuja, known for promoting Nollywood‑Bollywood collaborations, has produced projects like Namaste Wahala and Postcards. Imported Bahu is anticipated to further her mission of blending African and Indian narratives in culturally diverse productions.

The role represents another milestone for Ighodaro, broadening her visibility in the global entertainment industry.

Ighodaro has received praise for her work in film and television, her hosting duties, and her background as a former beauty queen.

A trailer for Imported Bahu was released prior to the July premiere, sparking excitement among fans of both Nollywood and Bollywood.
