Education advocate Alex Onyia has called for an urgent investigation into alleged misconduct at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.

The call was made in a statement posted on Onyia’s official account.

According to the statement, the university is said to be linked to repeated complaints involving sorting, extortion, intimidation, robbery, rape, killings and other forms of misconduct.

Onyia urged the Anambra State Government to set up an investigative panel to examine the allegations against the institution.

He also alleged that the current Vice Chancellor has introduced an application that allegedly forces students to pay N15,000, with a penalty of N35,000 imposed on those who do not comply.

“Students can’t continue to bear the brunt. Things have to change quickly,” the statement read.
