Hon. Excel Onuche David, the Senior Special Assistant for Grassroots Sensitisation and Mobilisation in the Kogi State Government, has denied circulating reports on certain media outlets that claim he has died, calling the allegations false, reckless, and malicious.
In a statement he signed on Tuesday, Onuche noted that he had received an influx of calls and messages from family, friends, colleagues, and supporters after the story was published.
He affirmed that he is “alive, hale and hearty” and remains fully active in his official responsibilities under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.
According to him, the report is not only false but also stems from inadequate verification by those who shared it.
“It is shocking and irresponsible that such a sensitive story was published without any attempt at verification,” he said.
Onuche said the publication caused needless distress to his family, friends, and supporters, and he described it as defamatory and damaging.
He called for the immediate removal of the false report from all platforms where it appeared and urged those responsible to stop further dissemination of the misinformation.
He issued a 24‑hour ultimatum for a complete retraction and an unequivocal public apology, warning that non‑compliance would force him to pursue legal action against all involved parties and platforms.
The aide thanked those who reached out to confirm his wellbeing and reassured the people of Kogi State of his ongoing commitment to his duties and public service.
