Ondo govt, security agencies launch manhunt for abductors of pastor’s 9yr old son

The Ondo State government announced that a joint security operation has been launched after a nine‑year‑old pastor’s son was kidnapped by suspected bandits in Igbosi Community, Idogun, Ose Local Government Area.

State officials urged calm in the affected community while mobilising the Amotekun Corps, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Security (DSS), and the military to conduct a rescue operation.

According to the state Commissioner for Information, combing operations have begun in the area, with officials emphasizing that no effort will be spared to locate and recover the child.

The victim, the son of Pastor Victor Olaosebikan, was taken in the early hours of Friday when bandits stormed the community. The incident represents the latest security breach in the state.

The government’s statement read: “The Ondo State Government wishes to assure residents that the security situation is being closely monitored and professionally managed by relevant agencies.”

“Preliminary security measures have already been strengthened in the affected area, while intelligence gathering and search operations are ongoing to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.”
