Olawepo‑Hashim Announces Presidential Candidacy on the Accord Platform

Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has officially announced his intention to run for President of Nigeria on the Accord Party platform, marking his entry into the expanding 2027 presidential race.

The former presidential candidate disclosed his ambition after a series of consultations with party stakeholders and national figures, during which he was reportedly encouraged to step forward as part of a broader opposition restructuring effort.

During the declaration, Olawepo-Hashim said, “Nigeria needs urgent rebuilding anchored on unity, economic recovery, and strong institutions. We cannot continue business as usual if we truly want a new direction for our country.”

He added that his ambition is not personal but driven by what he described as the “urgent need to reset leadership and restore confidence in governance.”
