Naija Ratels FC has defended its approach to player welfare and salary payments.

The Abuja‑based club says it has kept coaches and players informed and has been making payments as funds become available during the financially challenging 2025/26 season.

In a statement signed by President Abdul Sule, the club responded to online reports of unpaid salaries.

Sule said the reports were “clearly aimed at damaging the reputation of the club” and stressed that a single story told without context does not reflect what the team has built since 2019.

He added that the 2025‑26 NWFL season stretched the club after it had to rebuild its squad almost entirely from scratch.

The club confirmed that all player contracts remain valid and binding, and that management is committed to honoring every contractual commitment.

Naija Ratels finished bottom of NWFL Group A with five points.
