The Nigerian Army announced that no major security incidents have been recorded along the Abuja–Kaduna road and rail corridor in recent years, attributing the peace to sustained military operations and troop deployments.
Col. I.R. Adom, Commander of Sub Sector 4, Operation Fansan Yanma, Sector 1, 1 Division Nigerian Army, made the statement during a media tour of military formations in Kaduna.
He explained that soldiers are tasked with securing the Abuja–Kaduna expressway, the rail corridor, nearby communities, and critical national infrastructure in the area.
“For about two years now, there has been no major security incident on the road. This is due to the proactive actions of the troops deployed on both the road and rail corridors,” he said.
Adom added that troops have continued to pressure bandits and other criminal groups, resulting in improved security and safer travel for residents.
He also reported that soldiers recently rescued kidnapped victims along the Katari–Gurara road, an area that had previously experienced insecurity.
The commander further disclosed that rival bandit groups had clashed around Rijana and Gwagwada over cattle‑rustling activities.
“There was an infighting among some bandit groups along the Rijana axis and also the Gwagwada axis. Some bandits were neutralised during the clash,” he said.
Adom assured residents that the military would continue aggressive operations against criminal elements and urged the public to support security agencies with useful information.
