NNL: Akwa United announce end-of-season break

Akwa United has announced an end‑of‑season break for its players and officials.

The club’s Promise Keepers released the statement on Friday.

Chairman Joseph Eno said the break will begin on Friday, 5 June 2026.

He added that the pause will give the squad and staff time to rest and recover in preparation for the next season.

Akwa United narrowly missed promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Eno acknowledged the club’s disappointment at not meeting its goal but expressed confidence that they will achieve promotion next season.
