NIPR, NEPC partner to promote made-in-Nigeria products globally

By John Alechenu

ABUJA — The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) have formalised a partnership to promote Made‑in‑Nigeria products and services both domestically and abroad, aiming to bolster the country’s economy.

Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of NIPR, announced the collaboration during a visit by the institute’s delegation to NEPC’s headquarters in Abuja.

“The partnership is significant because both organisations share the responsibility of projecting Nigeria’s image, reputation and economic potential to the global community,” Neliaku said.

He added, “Nigeria is endowed with quality resources and the capacity to lead globally. What we have in this country is not in any way inferior to products from other parts of the world.”

While outlining plans for the upcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), Neliaku urged NEPC to establish a Made‑in‑Nigeria exhibition pavilion at the event. He said the pavilion would showcase Nigeria’s talents, innovations and creativity across the production value chain to an international audience.

“With the innovation you have brought into packaging, NEPC will use the WPRF platform to demonstrate to the world what we are capable of producing in this nation and that we are not merely a consuming nation,” he said.

The NIPR president also praised Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPC, for her efforts to improve the quality, finishing and packaging of locally manufactured products.

Responding, Ayeni pledged the council’s commitment to partnering with NIPR, host of the World Public Relations Forum, to provide a credible platform for Made‑in‑Nigeria products to reach wider domestic and international markets.

She noted that the council’s drive toward economic diversification would be strengthened through collaboration with NIPR, which she described as the country’s leading reputation‑management institution.

Ayeni expressed confidence that the partnership would help showcase Nigeria’s productive capacity, enhance the competitiveness of local products and support the growth of non‑oil exports.
