Libyan powerhouse Al‑Ittihad SC has signed Nigerian midfielder Onuche Ogbelu, according to Completesports.com.
Ogbelu moved to Al‑Ittihad from Tunisian club Esperance on a three‑year deal.
The 23‑year‑old joined Esperance in 2023 after playing for Nasarawa United in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
He is the club’s fifth acquisition of the summer, following the signings of Thembinkosi Lorch, Adem Alilet, Stephane Aziz Ki, Ahmad Benali, and Anatole Abang.
Ogbelu’s Remarkable Spell at Espérance
Ogbelu represented Esperance at last year’s FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, earning praise for his performances.

Known for his composure under pressure, ability to evade the press, and excellent ball distribution, the defensive midfielder was a regular starter for Esperance.
A product of the Fosla Academy in Abuja, Ogbelu made 54 league appearances for the Blood and Gold, scoring two goals.
Key Player for Nigeria’s U‑20
Ogbelu was a pivotal member of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles squad that finished third at the 2023 Africa U‑20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The midfielder appeared in all six of Nigeria’s matches during the tournament, highlighting his importance to the side.
His strong displays also earned him an invitation to train with the Super Eagles in 2023 ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures.
