Nigerian gas stations cut petrol prices following Dangote Refinery’s lower gantry rate.

Nigerian filling stations have lowered the price of Premium Motor Spirit after Dangote Refinery cut its gantry petrol rate.

A market survey by DAILY POST on Monday found that stations such as Sunset Energy and Emedab in Abuja adjusted their retail fuel price to N1,345 and N1,360 per litre, down from N1,450 and N1,365 respectively.

However, several other outlets in Abuja—including Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Ranoil, AA Rano, NIPCO, and MRS—kept petrol prices flat between N1,350 and N1,370 per litre at the time of reporting.

The price reduction follows Dangote Refinery’s decision to lower fuel prices over the weekend by N25 per liter.

Meanwhile, the retail price of automotive gas oil remained unchanged at around N1,900 and above N2,000 per litre across most filling stations.

Responding to the move, Abubakar Maigandi, president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, told DAILY POST that more members would cut their petrol price from Tuesday as they receive new stock from Dangote Refinery.

“As soon as our members receive new stock from Dangote Refinery, fuel and diesel prices would go down in line with the refinery’s latest adjustment,” he said.
