Nigeria is becoming safer in some regions, says Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that security conditions are improving in certain parts of Nigeria, even as challenges persist elsewhere. He made the comments in a statement marking the third anniversary of his administration on Friday.

He said that ongoing military operations and security reforms are beginning to show results in some regions, particularly where troops have intensified efforts against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal groups.

“Our Armed Forces and security agencies have intensified operations against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and criminal networks. While challenges remain, many communities and highways are becoming safer and more economically active,” he said.

The president highlighted that the government is investing more in intelligence gathering, surveillance, technology, and inter‑agency cooperation to strengthen the fight against insecurity across the country.

“We continue investing in intelligence, surveillance, logistics, technology and inter‑agency coordination,” Tinubu added.

He assured Nigerians that the administration would not relent until peace and stability are restored nationwide.

“We are improving the capabilities of our armed forces and reclaiming the authority of the Nigerian state wherever criminality threatens peace and order,” he said.

“While we continue to confront the challenges head‑on, progress is being made. I want to assure you that this government will not relent until every Nigerian can live, work, travel, and dream in safety.”
