The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has named Commandant Offor Kenneth Onyeso as the new State Commander of its Rivers State Command.

Offor, a native of Ogida in Etche Local Government Area, officially took office as the 27th State Commander on 20 May 2026.

He earned a degree in Education Administration and Accountancy from Enugu State University of Science and Technology and began his NDLEA career as a cadet officer on 1 November 1994.

Throughout his tenure, he has held several key positions within the agency, including Deputy State Commander of the Ebonyi State Command and Deputy Zonal Commander of Zone 12 in Owerri, Imo State.

A statement released on Friday described him as a seasoned narcotics officer whose experience, professionalism and dedication led to his appointment.

During his swearing‑in, Offor pledged to enhance the agency’s operations in the state through intelligence‑driven enforcement and ongoing preventive initiatives.

“I will uphold the core values of the agency through robust enforcement, intelligence‑led operations, and sustained public sensitisation and prevention programmes,” he said.

The new commander also called on stakeholders, traditional institutions, the media and the public to support the agency’s mission to eliminate illicit drugs and related crimes in Rivers State.
