MrM and Revelation Set to Receive Music Icon of the Year Award at AMTY

The gospel music ministry MrM & Revelation will receive the Music Icon of the Year award at the Anambra Man of the Year Awards, scheduled for July.

Organisers explained that the award acknowledges MrM & Revelation’s significant influence on gospel music, their dedication to fostering peace, love, and unity, and their contribution to showcasing African gospel music to audiences across Africa and beyond.

The honour celebrates a ministry that evolved from a modest collective headed by Mr Miracle (MrM) into one of Africa’s most acclaimed gospel groups, using music to inspire faith, promote unity, and foster positive social change.

Founded to bring people closer to Christ and shape culture through worship, MrM & Revelation has become a household name in African gospel music.

Their debut album, Focus, which includes the hit “Jesus Bu Onyem Ne Fe,” introduced the group to a broad audience and launched an inspiring musical journey.

Guided by MrM, an Industrial Physics graduate from Ebonyi State University, the group has written and released over 100 songs, such as Nisi’m, Akoro, Operempe, Odogwu Wonder, Until I See, At Your Feet, Not Ojoro, and Ekele, many of which have gained widespread acclaim.

The ministry has performed on major gospel platforms across Africa, including The Experience, and has collaborated with prominent gospel artists like Nathaniel Bassey, Mercy Chinwo, Peterson Okopi, Jimmy D Psalmist, and Judikay.

They also host the annual 24 Hours No Limit Worship, one of South‑East Nigeria’s largest worship gatherings, drawing more than 30 gospel ministers into an atmosphere of praise and worship.
