Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has identified his home country Portugal and England as the leading contenders for the 2026 World Cup.

Portugal are close to securing a place in the Round of 32.

England began their campaign with a 4-2 win over Croatia, then drew 0-0 with Ghana.
