Meristem Family Office, a subsidiary of Meristem Securities Limited, released its first Nigeria Family Wealth Report for 2026 yesterday.
During a press conference in Lagos, Mr. Sulaiman Adedokun, Managing Director of Meristem Securities Limited, said the report marks the start of a vital dialogue on wealth, legacy, and the future of family prosperity in Nigeria and throughout Africa.
He added that the firm’s core mission is to promote the financial wellbeing of its clients.
“Financial wellbeing is about how you create, preserve, and transfer wealth in a way that brings peace of mind for our clients. Wealth is not just about accumulation. True wealth involves stewardship, preserving value across generations, creating opportunities for future family members, and building legacies that endure beyond a single lifetime,” he said.
Adedokun explained that the Meristem Family report was designed to shed light on these realities, emphasizing the organization’s duty to provide clients with insights that enable them to act.
Earlier, Kemi Ojenike, Managing Director of Meristem Family Office, noted that many successful businesses remain closely linked to the founder’s judgment, relationships, credibility, and authority.
She reported that the survey conducted by Meristem Family Office found that operating businesses and real estate were among the top two asset holdings for 80per cent of the families surveyed.
Ojenike highlighted that these assets require active management, clear ownership, reliable records, and a plan for leadership and ownership transition.
