Mbappe Names the Two Best Players of the 2026 World Cup

France captain Kylian Mbappé has identified the two best players in the world.

When asked by the press who he considered the best footballer among himself, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane, Mbappé said, “Messi is the best together with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Mbappé scored twice in France’s opening group match against Senegal, while Messi produced a stunning hat‑trick against Algeria.

“I knew that Leo Messi was going to score goals… he always scores,” Mbappé added. “I’m going to keep scoring goals to help my team go as far as possible. And of course, by scoring, I’ll get closer to the record.”

Mbappé hopes to see France advance to the knockouts when they face Iraq on Monday.
