Mbappé Joins Four Players Who Have Scored Multiple Goals in Three Consecutive World Cup Matches

France captain Kylian Mbappé has become the fourth player in FIFA World Cup history to score multiple goals in at least three consecutive tournament matches.

The record was set after Mbappé netted a brace in France’s 3‑0 victory over Iraq last night.

He had already scored a brace against Senegal earlier in the tournament.

Mbappé’s 27‑year‑old also achieved a hat‑trick in the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina in Qatar.

According to OptaJoe, the French forward joins Sándor Kocsis (1954, run of four), Guillermo Stabile (1930) and Lionel Messi (2026) as the only players to score two or more goals in three straight World Cup matches.

Mbappé now looks to steer France to victory in their final Group I match against Norway on Friday.

Both France and Norway have six points and have advanced to the Round of 32 after defeating Iraq and Senegal, respectively.
