Algeria defender Aissa Mandi reflected on the team’s hard‑fought 2‑1 victory over Jordan, according to Completesports.com.
The Desert Foxes came from behind to defeat Jordan at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium, keeping their hopes of advancing to the next round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 alive.
Nizar Al Rashdan gave Jordan the opening goal with a superb shot from outside his right boot nine minutes before the break.
After losing their opening match 3‑0 to Argentina, Algeria equalised in the 69th minute when Nadhir Benbouali headed home the equaliser.

With eight minutes remaining, Amine Gouiri sealed the turnaround, poking home from close range after the ball dropped kindly for him following another corner.
Mandi Talks Up Difficult Victory
Mandi said it was not easy to find a way through the resolute defence of their opponents.
“We know it’s very tough to play against such a defensive block. We gave it our all, tried everything, and were rewarded with two set pieces that we had practiced,” Mandi was quoted by FIFA.com.
“We wanted to put that loss to Argentina behind us. I am really proud of the team. When you win a World Cup match, you have to appreciate it.”
Vladimir Petkovic’s men are third in Group J heading into their final group‑stage fixture against Austria.
