LPPC Shortlists 89 Candidates for Senior Administrative Officer Rank

The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) has shortlisted 89 candidates for the award of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and LPPC Secretary Kabir Eniola Akanbi noted that the candidates had successfully completed certain stages of the 2026 SAN conferment process.

Akanbi, who highlighted that the candidates were divided into two groups—advocates and academics—stated that the announcement came before the final interview stage.

He urged the public to comment on the integrity, reputation, and competence of the listed candidates.

Akanbi added that any complaint must be supported by a verifying affidavit sworn by the complainant before a Superior Court of Record in Nigeria or a Notary Public.

The complaint, required in 20 copies, must be submitted to the LPPC Secretary’s office no later than 15 July 2026.

Akanbi clarified that publishing the names does not indicate that the candidates have been selected.

Seventy‑seven candidates were shortlisted in the advocate category, and twelve in the academic category.

Among the candidates is Akpomosingha Osuobeni, Director of the Legal Department of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Other candidates include former Nigerian Bar Association spokesperson Habeeb Akorede and Vice President of the Centre for Socio‑Legal Studies (CSLS), Olaide Akinseye‑George.
