A 22‑year‑old man received a 27‑year prison term for attempting to murder a teenager at a motorcycle gathering in west London.
Emad Al‑Haj Shareef was sentenced on Monday at Kingston Crown Court after a jury found him guilty of attempting to kill a 19‑year‑old man in a shooting in Hayes.
The attack took place on the night of 23 August 2025, during a large motorcycle gathering that drew hundreds of participants.
Investigators said the victim, a member of the same motorcycle group as Shareef but not personally acquainted with him, approached Shareef at the event, leading to an altercation.
Police reported that tensions rose after Shareef allegedly threatened the teenager, prompting the victim to flee. Shareef allegedly pursued him on a motorcycle and then fired at close range.
The teenager was hit in the neck and was left in critical condition.
Emergency services were called after the injured teenager was transported to Hillingdon Hospital shortly after midnight.
Metropolitan Police detectives launched a comprehensive investigation that relied on CCTV footage, witness statements and forensic evidence.
Investigators later secured surveillance video that allegedly shows Shareef firing the shots while riding a motorcycle, and further footage that reportedly tracks his escape toward his home in Hounslow.
Police arrested him two days later at his residence on Norman Crescent and subsequently charged him with attempted murder.
Authorities also recovered the firearm suspected to have been used in the attack, together with a magazine concealed inside a stolen vehicle.
A jacket that investigators say Shareef wore during the shooting was retrieved from the same vehicle and later tested positive for gunshot residue.
Additional digital analysis of mobile phone records and social‑media activity also linked Shareef to the crime scene.
Detectives also obtained a Snapchat video reportedly uploaded by Shareef earlier that day, showing him at the motorcycle gathering near Piccadilly Circus.
