A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, outlined eleven points he believes his Igbo compatriots should understand about leadership in Nigeria.

Igbokwe urged people in the South‑East to abandon the pursuit of a sovereign Biafra and to focus instead on fostering national unity.

He called on the Igbo community to build bridges across the country.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe wrote:

“Let us go and make friends across Nigeria.”

“Let us go and build bridges of friendship, trust and cooperation.”

“Let us stop this paranoid grandiosity.”

“Let us do away with this selfish sense of superiority.”

“Let us do away with this ‘I Better Than Others’ syndrome.”

“Let us learn what erudite scholars call cultural competence.”

“Let us learn that politics is a game of numbers.”

“Let us stop this senseless agitation for a useless Biafra project.”

“Let the Igbo stop killing their own people and burning homes in the name of the useless Biafra project.”

“Let us have emotional intelligence and reject ethnic preoccupation.”

“Let us not be too loud, let us stop the noise and do the needful.”
