The Jigawa State Government has announced the suspension of five political appointees serving in the Auyo Local Government Council, effective immediately.
The officials affected are two Supervisory Councillors and three Special Advisers to the council chairman.
A press release from the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development, signed by its Public Relations Officer Najib Umar, confirmed that the suspensions take effect right away.
The suspended appointees are Bala Energy, Supervisory Councillor; Abdullahi Usman, Supervisory Councillor; Afake Auyo, Special Adviser; Ussaini Biyuta Kataudi, Special Adviser; and Kande Auyo, Special Adviser.
The statement noted that the state government approved the suspensions through the ministry, but did not provide a reason for the action.
All affected appointees are directed to hand over any government property and responsibilities in their possession to the Director of Administration and General Services of the local government council immediately.
“The affected appointees are hereby directed to hand over all government properties and responsibilities in their possession to the Director of Administration and General Services of the Local Government with immediate effect,” the statement read.
The ministry stressed that compliance with this directive is mandatory and must be carried out promptly.
