The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran reports that it has launched missiles and drones at U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain. The attack is said to be a response to earlier U.S. strikes on Iranian targets.
According to Iranian media, the IRGC stated that the U.S. actions violated a ceasefire agreement and that the Iranian government will halt all diplomatic engagement as a consequence.
Kuwait’s army announced early Sunday that its air defense systems were intercepting the incoming attacks.
In Bahrain, the Interior Ministry posted on X on Sunday that sirens had been sounded, urging residents to move to the nearest safe location.
On Saturday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. aircraft had targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities, in retaliation for earlier Iranian attacks on commercial shipping.
