Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town are reportedly keen to sign Nigerian attacking midfielder Femi Azeez from Millwall this summer, Afrik‑Foot reports.

Azeez was one of the standout attackers in the recently finished Championship season, playing a key role in Millwall’s third‑place finish.

His explosive dribbling, sharp transition play and elite crossing were on full display throughout the campaign.

He also proved his clinical edge in front of goal, registering 11 goals and eight assists in 35 appearances for The Lions.

Following his stellar campaign, Azeez’s value has risen sharply, drawing interest from several top‑flight English clubs. Alongside Ipswich, the likes of Aston Villa, Everton, Brighton and Bournemouth are also keeping tabs on the 24‑year‑old.

The report states that the Lions are holding out for a fee in the region of €34.5 million—a massive markup considering they signed him for just €1.15 million in the summer of 2024.

As it stands, Ipswich Town appear to be the most serious suitors. Backed by the massive financial windfall of Premier League promotion, the Tractor Boys certainly have the financial muscle to afford him.

However, Ipswich are expected to negotiate for a significantly lower fee, a strategy that other interested Premier League clubs will likely mirror.

Whether Millwall will budge remains to be seen, especially since the Nigerian playmaker still has two years left on his current contract.

Azeez’s breakout season has caught the eye of Nigerian football fans, sparked by rumors that he will be included in Eric Chelle’s squad for the upcoming Unity Cup.

The Franco‑Malian tactician previously announced his intention to hand maiden call‑ups to fresh talent from both the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and Europe for the tournament.

This presents a golden opportunity for players like Azeez to prove their mettle on the international stage. Born in England to a Nigerian father and a Spanish mother, the midfielder is eligible to represent three different nations but has never played international football at any level.

Having chosen to commit his international future to Nigeria, Azeez will be hoping to make a lasting impression on Chelle and cement his place in the Super Eagles squad moving forward.
