President Bola Ahmed Tinubu achieved a decisive win in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary held throughout Osun State, amassing 100,880 votes on Saturday.

The results were announced in Osogbo by the state collation officer and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, who described the election as peaceful and orderly across the state.

Oyetola noted that Tinubu’s only opponent, Mr. Stanley Osifo, did not receive any votes in the primary conducted in the 30 local government areas and the Ife East Area Office.

He revealed that the ruling party had 109,806 digitally registered members in Osun State, with 100,880 members accredited to vote in the exercise.

The minister said the turnout reflected the commitment of party members to the APC’s internal democratic process in the state.

“The exercise was peaceful, transparent, and orderly across Osun State,” Oyetola said while announcing the result in Osogbo.

He added, “The participation recorded in this primary demonstrates the unity and strength of our party ahead of future electoral contests.”

The minister also urged APC members to remain united and committed as preparations intensify for the Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

According to him, “The conduct of the primary showed the party’s dedication to democratic values, internal cohesion, and transparent electoral procedures.”

Oyetola noted that the peaceful conduct witnessed across the state underscored the readiness of party members to sustain mobilisation efforts ahead of forthcoming elections.
