Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State, has formally filed his presidential nomination.
The submission took place on Thursday at the National Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja, ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
His filing follows the departure of party heavyweights Peter Obi and Rabi'u Kwankwaso, both former presidential candidates, who joined the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) after internal disputes and legal challenges within the ADC.
According to DAILY POST, this is Amaechi’s second bid for the presidency. He previously ran in 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC) but was defeated in the primary by President Bola Tinubu.
