The Inspector‑General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered additional security forces to be deployed in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State after recent attacks, and has also sent Assistant Inspector‑General of Police AIG Dankombo Morris, who heads Zone 4 Headquarters in Makurdi, to the state for an operational assessment.
This directive follows the IGP’s earlier order, issued weeks ago, that all Deputy Inspectors‑General of Police (DIGs) relocate to their assigned zones to coordinate operations against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal actors threatening communities nationwide.
Force Public Relations Officer CSP Anietie Iniedu reported that AIG Morris visited the Akawel community in Mushere District, Bokkos Local Government Area, where he met with community leaders, traditional rulers and other key stakeholders to evaluate the security situation and reinforce efforts to restore peace and stability.
