Gov Makinde plans special operation to rescue abducted pupils and teachers.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde announced on Tuesday that a special operation would be launched to rescue students and teachers who were abducted in the state.

The governor made the statement while addressing a group of protesters who had marched to the Government House demanding the immediate return of the children.

Last month, terrorists attacked schools in Yawota and Esiele, located in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, and kidnapped more than 40 pupils and teachers.

Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, led the mass protest at the Oyo State Government House on Tuesday.

In response to the demonstrators, Makinde assured them that the victims would be rescued and that efforts were already underway.

“The operation to rescue them is a special type of operation. As the Governor of Oyo State, I give you assurance that we will bring back those children,” he said.
