Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security operatives in the state.
The governor made the statement on Thursday while presiding over the weekly State Security Council meeting at the Government House in Gusau.
A statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, noted that the meeting was attended by heads of security agencies operating in the state.
Discussions centered on strengthening security presence in volatile areas and improving responses to emerging threats.
“Governor Dauda Lawal chaired the weekly Security Council meeting with renewed commitment to strengthening support for troops,” the statement read.
He assured security chiefs that he was ready to take all necessary measures to enhance the welfare and operational effectiveness of personnel deployed across the state.
The meeting also addressed key security concerns, particularly the need to reinforce troop deployment and improve rapid‑response mechanisms during emergencies.
Governor Lawal emphasized that ensuring the safety and security of Zamfara residents remains a top priority of his administration.
He further assured the heads of security agencies that his office would remain accessible for collaboration and support in tackling security challenges across the state.
