Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed concern over an alleged scheme by certain individuals to destabilise motor parks throughout the state.
He has also instructed the Commissioner of Police to act immediately to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
In a statement released on Friday in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said intelligence reports indicated that some persons linked to opposition elements were planning to target motor parks in local government areas across the state.
The governor described the alleged plot as a threat to public peace and order, urging those involved to abandon what he called a sinister agenda aimed at creating unrest.
Adeleke noted that motor parks in the state had remained peaceful since 2023 and stressed that his administration would not allow instability or conflict to return to the transport sector.
According to the statement, the governor praised the prevailing tranquillity in motor parks and reiterated his commitment to maintaining security and stability across Osun State.
He said, “Credible reports indicated some opposition elements in this untoward plan against the peace of Osun State. We already have all the details, and I warn them to drop their sinister moves.”
The governor further disclosed that he had instructed the Commissioner of Police to take proactive measures to forestall any attempt to disrupt activities at motor parks within the state.
“I have further directed the Commissioner of Police to take pre‑emptive action. The current peace and stability of our dear state must be sustained at all costs,” Adeleke stated.
