Give Us Four Years to Resolve Nigeria’s Electricity Crisis, 2027 Plan Announces.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, announced a plan to increase Nigeria’s power supply to 10,000 MW within four years.

Obi made the pledge on Saturday, shortly after declaring his candidacy for the party ahead of the upcoming general elections.

He emphasized that he would not enter office and then offer excuses for unmet goals.

“This is something we have carefully studied. Give us four years and we will fix Nigeria’s electricity issue. We’ll raise Nigeria’s power supply to 10,000 MW,” Obi said.

“It is completely unacceptable that a country of over 200 million people generates and distributes only about 4,000 MW of electricity while millions of Nigerians still lack access to reliable power.”

“Countries like South Africa and Egypt, despite having significantly smaller populations, each generate and distribute over 40,000 MW. Nigeria is not even producing one‑tenth of what those countries generate, and that must change,” he added.
