Germany advanced to the World Cup knockout stage for the first time since 2014, with substitute Deniz Undav scoring twice in a 2‑1 comeback win over Ivory Coast in Toronto on Saturday.
Franck Kessie opened the scoring from close range in the 30th minute, giving Ivory Coast an early lead, but Undav struck a volley midway through the second half and later added a late injury‑time goal to secure the victory.
