Flutterwave supports NYSC entrepreneurs at YEEP 2026

Flutterwave, Africa’s top payments‑technology firm, reiterated its dedication to youth enterprise development by partnering with the Activate Success International Foundation for the National Youth Entrepreneurship & Empowerment Programme (YEEP 2026).

The weekend summit in Abuja convened young entrepreneurs, business leaders and ecosystem stakeholders to explore how technology, mentorship and resource access can accelerate business growth.

At the event, Flutterwave founder and CEO Olugbenga Agboola underscored the need to equip young entrepreneurs with the infrastructure, tools and opportunities essential for building sustainable businesses.

During a fireside chat with Activate Success Foundation CEO Love Idoko‑Uloko, Agboola explained that Flutterwave was founded on a simple vision: building “the infrastructure of infrastructures” to allow African businesses to reach customers from Abuja to Nairobi, London and beyond without friction.

Drawing on Flutterwave’s growth story, Agboola recounted lessons from the company’s early days, such as pitching its vision in San Francisco while still establishing global credibility.

He also stressed humility, mentorship and relationships as key drivers of the company’s growth, noting that the guidance of the late Herbert Wigwe helped open doors for Flutterwave.

Agboola urged young entrepreneurs to seize today’s opportunities, pointing out that access to knowledge, technology and global markets has opened new possibilities for the next generation of African builders.

“You are living in a world where you can learn anything, build anything, and become anything. The question is whether you are locking in and investing in yourself with the consistency and excellence that will carry you to where you are going,” he said.

Olufunmilayo Olaniyi, Flutterwave’s Business Development lead, reinforced the company’s commitment to removing barriers for emerging entrepreneurs by providing digital payment solutions and business infrastructure.

Olaniyi added, “This is 2026, and the question has evolved from whether Africa is open for business to whether you are ready when that opportunity shows up for you.”

Through the programme, Flutterwave and the Activate Success International Foundation awarded more than 25 grants to young Nigerian entrepreneurs, supporting business growth and investing in the next generation of African builders.
