Stade Rennes, a Ligue 1 club, are now in the hunt to sign Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez, according to Completesports.com.
Fernandez, who joined the Scottish club from League One side Peterborough United for around £3.5 million last summer, has quickly become one of the league’s most impressive defenders.
Rangers are expected to seek a substantial profit if they decide to sell the 24‑year‑old during the current transfer window.
The Nigerian international had an outstanding debut season at Ibrox, earning the club’s Player of the Season award and a spot in the Scottish Premiership Team of the Season.

Fernandez also contributed offensively, scoring five goals in 27 league appearances for the Light Blues.
His strong club performances have earned him three caps for Nigeria.
French outlet Ouest‑France reports that Rennes have shortlisted three central defenders, including Fernandez, as they look to reinforce their backline.
Rennes face competition from several European clubs, with Feyenoord, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund also monitoring the Nigerian international.
