Europol and INTERPOL have reaffirmed their commitment to fighting transnational organized crime by agreeing on a new set of Joint Key Operational Priorities that will steer their collaboration.

These priorities were developed by operational experts from both agencies and aim to foster a more proactive and coordinated response to international criminal networks.

The updated framework enhances coordination across a wide range of crime areas, including cybercrime, organized crime, economic and financial crime, and counter‑terrorism.

The agreement was signed by Europol’s Deputy Director Operations, Jean‑Philippe Lecouffe, INTERPOL’s Director for Police Capabilities, Harald Arm, and Stephen Fry, Director of Investigation Support.

A joint statement released on Monday underscored the continued cooperation of the key partners within the global security architecture to counter criminal threats that cross borders.

Recent joint operations include Operation Global Chain, which led to the arrest of 158 human traffickers and the rescue of 1,194 victims in several countries.

During Operation Pandora, 80 individuals were apprehended and more than 37,700 items were seized in a major art‑trafficking bust, while Operation Custos Viridis targeted networks involved in waste and pollution crime.

The one‑year mission, conducted across five continents, saw Europol working alongside INTERPOL and partners from 71 countries and numerous international organizations.
