Yilwatda felicitates Muslims, urges backing for Tinubu’s reforms

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, sent greetings to Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid el‑Kabir, calling for continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda described the festival as a sacred celebration that embodies faith, sacrifice, obedience, love and devotion to Almighty Allah.

He noted that Eid el‑Kabir remains one of the most significant events in Islam, symbolising self‑lessness, unity, compassion, tolerance and complete submission to God, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

According to the APC chairman, the spiritual lessons of the festival are especially relevant at a pivotal stage in Nigeria’s development. He stressed that sacrifice, patience, perseverance and collective responsibility are essential for building a stronger, more prosperous nation.

Yilwatda urged Nigerians—particularly the Muslim community—to continue promoting peaceful coexistence, national unity and harmony across ethnic, religious and political lines. He added that the Sallah celebration should further strengthen bonds of love, understanding and brotherhood among citizens.

He also called on citizens to back President Tinubu’s administration, noting that the ongoing reforms aim to reposition the country for sustainable economic growth, improved infrastructure, enhanced national security and job creation.

While acknowledging that the reforms may require patience and shared sacrifice, Yilwatda maintained that they are necessary steps toward restoring economic stability, strengthening institutions and securing a better future for future generations.

Expressing confidence in the administration, he said Nigeria would emerge stronger, more resilient and globally competitive under Tinubu’s leadership.

The APC chairman further appealed to Nigerians to use the Eid period to pray for the nation’s peace, unity and progress, as well as for wisdom and guidance for leaders at all levels.

He also prayed that Almighty Allah accept the sacrifices and acts of worship of the faithful, granting peace, joy, good health and abundant blessings to all.

Yilwatda concluded by wishing Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world a peaceful and memorable Eid el‑Kabir celebration.
