During Eid‑el‑Kabir, NSCDC Deploys 56,000 Personnel and Tactical Squads Nationwide

The National Headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed more than 56,000 personnel across the country to ensure a smooth Eid‑el‑Kabir celebration.

Babawale Afolabi, Assistant Commandant of Corps and National Public Relations Officer (PRO) at NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja, announced the move in a statement released on Tuesday. He said the large deployment is intended to protect lives, property, and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).

The statement added that Commandant General Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi ordered the deployment and directed the immediate mobilization of operational vehicles, ambulances, boats, and K9 units to enable rapid emergency response.

To counter potential security breaches, the Commandant General placed all specialized tactical squads on high alert. The Mining Marshals, Special Intelligence Squad, Crack Squad, Female Special Force, and Rapid Response Squad will all participate in the operations.

A strict supervisory framework has been activated: Zonal Commanders are mandated to directly supervise commands within their areas and coordinate closely with State Commandants. State Commandants, in turn, must ensure full compliance with the operational order by actively monitoring Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Outpost Heads.

The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to working in synergy with sister security agencies and the public.

Citizens are urged to support the corps by providing timely and actionable information about any security threats, enabling personnel to respond swiftly.

The corps also issued a stern warning to anyone or any group planning to cause trouble or vandalize public infrastructure during the festive period, stating that the NSCDC will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute those who disrupt public peace.
