Dumo Lulu‑Briggs Wins NDC Governorship Ticket for Rivers 2027, Set to Face Wike’s Ally Chinda

Alabo Dumo Lulu‑Briggs has been declared the winner of the recently concluded National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship primary in Rivers State.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant secured the nomination unopposed in a primary held on Tuesday.

According to reports, no other candidates appeared at the exercise, which took place across all local government areas.

After the primary, Lulu‑Briggs thanked the party for the confidence placed in him, describing the process as calm and peaceful.

He is now set to contest the governorship election against the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Kingsley Chinda.

Chinda, a loyalist of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, won the APC ticket after incumbent governor Siminalayi Fubara withdrew from the race.
