Document Shows How Singer Paul Okoye Became Involved in EFCC Investigation

New documents reveal that the EFCC requested an investigation into the accounts of music star Paul Okoye as part of a petition tied to the ongoing family dispute.

The petition, dated January 29, 2024, which THISDAY accessed, asked the EFCC to examine the financial affairs of several people and entities linked to the former P‑Square group and its business ventures.

The document states that Peter requested the commission to scrutinize the accounts of Northside Music Limited, Northside Entertainment Limited, Jude Chidozie Okoye, Paul Nonso Okoye, and Umeokeke Ifeoma Okoye for specified time frames.

“I will appreciate if the commission can investigate the account of Northside Music Ltd from 2015 till date, the account of Northside Entertainment Ltd from 2007 till date, the account of Jude Chidozie Okoye from 2004 till date, the account of Paul Nonso Okoye from 2004 till date, and the account of Umeokeke Ifeoma Okoye from 2004 till date.”

The document has drawn attention after Peter made earlier public remarks about the circumstances of the EFCC investigation.

On August 12, 2024, Peter posted on his verified Instagram account: “I challenge PAUL, or anyone else to produce any petition that I, Peter Okoye, my management or my legal team ever filed against my twin brother PAUL, or that even mentions his name.”

The petition accessed by this outlet includes a request to investigate Paul’s accounts.

However, the context and interpretation of Peter’s social media remarks could not be independently verified, and he was not immediately available for comment.

Sources familiar with the matter said that Paul was invited by the EFCC during its investigation.

Attempts to secure official confirmation from the commission were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
